My rental

If you didn't already know, I was in an accident recently. Someone hit me when they ran a red light. Turns out they don't have insurance, and I have to foot a $2500 bill, but that's not what I want to post about.

I had a heck of a time trying to get a rental, no one trusts you when you are 19. It's funny how after 18 you have to be legally responsible but no one trusts you until you are allowed to drink. Anyway, I spent a couple days trying to get a loaner or a rental, and finally decided to move my car to a place that would help me out. Once my auto body shop was threatened with that, they forked over some dough for a rental car. I don't imagine it's too hard to do when my car has $6,100 worth of damage. They're getting a fat check off all this.

When I finally got that rental it was a Dodge Neon. I resented it at first, that grey, buggy-eyed girly car. But now I kinda like it. Doesn't jump off the line like my tC and it shakes at 75mph, but overall it's pretty nice. Contrary to the trash talk I gave it when I first got it. I'm surprised at how nice the sound system is, it has a really nice bass reflex. And it's comfortable to drive, that's a bonus. Big trunk, and the seats somewhat fold down. They have a 40/60 thing going on with the seats, but it really doesn't prove useful. Get's decent mileage. But I do feel like a dork driving it. Though it blends in with everything else, so people don't really notice it like they do my tC. It just isn't me though, but to be fair, it's nice and if I had to drive one all the time I wouldn't complain.

Supposedly the body shop is going to have a Cavalier for me. We'll see how that one is. They're replacing the shocks on it.

It's just comforting to hear when I call them up and ask about the loaner "Oh, we haven't fixed it yet." < /sarcasm>
